I have had Goodwin Foundation Repair here for several big projects include coating existing foundation, replacing sill plates, and in some areas, putting foundation where there was none. In the three projects they have worked on at my house, they have done an excellent, professional job. Bub and his whole team go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Him and his team are professional, kind, courteous, and hard working. When things came up that were unexpected, they took it in stride, and solved the problem with a good attitude. You know when you need a contractor to do a job at your house and you never know what you’re going to get? Well let me tell you, we had a better experience than we ever could have imagined when we chose Goodwin Foundation Repair. Bub came, not once, but twice, to look at our foundation issues. He was the first foundation repair contractor that suggested we had an engineer do an assessment of our foundation so he could better determine what work needed to be done and properly advise us. On a Friday we decided to go ahead and on Monday they showed up with equipment. Unfortunately Bub’s son became ill and, understandably, delayed them beginning to work. There was rain coming so they tarped the back yard where they were going to dig and filled cracks with foam filler. They left us a large shop vac in case we had any problems, and we didn’t have a drop of water in our basement. Bub came that first day once they started, while his son was still in the hospital, to make sure the braces were properly set to keep the wall stable while they were digging. Bub started the digging himself over concern for wall. Once his crew, Dan and Robby, started, they worked tirelessly every single day from the time they started to the time they left. Every time we had a question they answered willingly. It was quite obvious that Dan and Robby were knowledgeable and experienced in foundation repair. Fair pricing, quality workmanship, and good old-fashioned honest service! Pushy salespeople are a turn off, which is why I found Bub refreshing! I always felt like I was the boss and every decision was my own. We discussed my options while he educated and offered me his advice, but never told me what I needed to do -- he left this up to me to decide and encouraged me to take my time with my decisions. I received multiple estimates but my gut told me to go with GFR. I asked Bub to stop by once more after I had cleared out my basement so that he could do one more walk through and us finalize the project. Once finalized, lucky for us, his crew was able to come the very next day due to finishing up a job nearby! This was a blessing because we had one concerning section of a wall that needed to be addressed as soon as possible. I trusted that his crew would be more experienced than other competitors and represent Bub's code of ethics -- which they sure did! They arrived prepared and ready to work hard every day. They demonstrated respect and did a great job of tuckpointing cracked brickwork outside my home, reinforcing shearing with mortar and installing 12 wall beams in my basement. When I made any additional requests, they were quick to do them without hesitation. I was very pleased with their work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond. Bub stopped by on day 1 to check the progress on the job and stopped by a second time when the job was completed. He made it a priority that I was completely satisfied before accepting payment.
